Jim-L-Fix-It  Driving School  agrees to :

 

· Provide a suitable, roadworthy, fully insured car for training & practical test.

· All instructors to be professional & courteous at all times.

· Be punctual and turn up at the correct time and pick up point

· Book theory & / or practical test if requested.

· Inform all pupils of the pass plus scheme & instruct if willing.

· Give all pupils a copy of the drivers record  DSA syllabus

· Recommend books & resources to aid learning.

· Keep notes on every lesson to aid learning and pupil progress

· Give 48 hours notice if a lessons requires rescheduling

· All rescheduled lessons to be agreed by instructor and pupil.

· No refund will be issued if 48 hours notice and reschedule has been applied

· No refund will be issued as a result of unforeseen circumstances ie.

· Sudden illness...unscheduled mechanical repairs..weather...fog...snow etc

 

 

 

THE PUPIL WILL…..

 

 

· Agree to be bound by terms and conditions supplied herein

· Hold a current legal provisional licence that permits lessons with a ADI

· Agree to act proper and courteous whilst on a driving lesson

· Agree to wear proper clothing and footwear suitable for lessons

· Be in a fit, medical state to drive.

· Be able to read a number plate at the required legal distance.

· If contacts or glasses are required they must be worn on lessons

· Inform the driving school of any changes to address or medical state.

· Inform the driving school of any changes to provisional licence status

· Agree to pay in advance all Fees requested by School or instructor

· Agree to pay in full the fee for any lesson & timeslot or course booked

· Agree to give at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson

· Agree to pay a cancellation fee if 48 hours notice is not given

· Agree to pay a cancellation fee if your instructor deems you unfit to drive

· Agree that no refund will be issued if the pupil cut’s short a lesson

 

 

 

 

Driving Courses & Packages

 

Beginners driving course:

 

The beginners driving course is a special promotion .

 

The offer of 5 Lessons,5 hours of tuition for £75 is for novice drivers only.

The offer of 10 lessons or 10 hours for £175 is for novice drivers only

Payment for the course is taken in advance at the start of the First Lesson.

No refunds will be issued if the pupils cancels a booked lesson slot or is unable to complete the 5 or 10 hours of tuition booked.

 

Geographical restrictions apply.

 

Block Lessons:

 

All blocked lessons are bought and paid for in advance.

Payment can be made at the start of the driving lesson.

No refunds will be issued if the pupils cancels a booked lesson slot or is unable to complete the hours of blocked lesson tuition booked.

 

Intensive driving course:

 

All intensive driving courses are bought and paid for in advance.

Payment can be made at the start of the driving lesson.

No refunds will be issued if the pupils cancels a booked lesson slot or is unable to complete the hours of the intensive course booked.

 

· Book a 25/30/35 driving course and spread the payments.

· 1st Lesson @ Full Rate

· 2nd Lesson 20% deposit of Course Fee payable

· 4th Lesson Full balance of Course Fee payable

 

The intensive driving course aims to accelerate your learning by giving  lessons in a minimum of 5 hour time slots … (A break may be included)

The Premium Package:

 

The Premium package is bought and paid for in advance.

Payment can be made at the start of the driving lesson.

No refunds will be issued if the pupils cancels a booked lesson slot or is unable to complete the hours of the Premium Package booked.

 

· Book the Premium Package and spread the payments.

· 1st Lesson @ Full Rate

· 2nd Lesson 20% deposit of Course Fee payable

· 4th Lesson Full balance of Course Fee payable

 

You are buying 40 hours of in Car Time.

The 40 hours may also include the 2 hours allocated for the Practical Test.

The above is True if the pupil reaches Test Standard in the 40 hours.

 

If additional lessons of instruction are required to reach test standard….

Further lessons charges at the standard rate will apply.

 

1 Free Theory Test Fee  &  1 Free Practical Test Fee is included.

 

The Premium Package is designed to give you the best start in learning

to drive…..The flexibility to choose when you want to take your lessons.

 

The lessons can be taken either in hour slots or multiples thereof.

 

We can also accelerate your learning by giving lessons in a minimum of

5 hour time slots…. (A break may be included)

ALL COURSES AND PACKAGES HAVE A TIME LIMIT

ALL COURSES AND PACKAGES MUST BE COMPLETED IN 10 MONTHS*

 

Exceptional circumstances may prevent the course being completed in the allocated time / each event and circumstance will be considered on it’s own merit whether to extend or issue a partial refund.

Practical Driving Test…...

 

If a pupil requires the use of the driving school car for a Practical Driving Test

Then the following terms and conditions shall apply

 

Before any test can be booked the pupil must hold a valid Theory Test Pass Certificate.

It is also recommended that a 3 month expiration date should be left .

 

Before any test can be booked the pupil must have achieved a level 5 pass in all categories of the DSA drivers record and received a signed copy from their instructor of the

Declaration of test readiness.

 

Before any test can be booked the pupil will consult with their instructor to confirm  Diary schedules and commitments:  ie does the instructor have holidays planned….are there any other pupils on test that day.

 

After an approximate test window date has been agreed a Test can then be booked.

 

The DSA and the driving school implement a supplementary Fee for :

evenings & week end test dates. ( Please consult with instructor about fees )

 

Your instructor may request a payment of an advanced fee equivalent to a 2 hour lesson as soon as a test date has been confirmed ..This fee covers the cost of pick up and drop off from / to pupils home….. The 1 hour pre test lesson….use of the school car for the 40 minute driving test and a 5-10 minute (post test) debrief by your instructor.     

 (please consult with your instructor for further details)

No refund of the advanced fee for the 2 hour test timeslot will be issued by the school if the Pupil cancels a Driving Test at short notice...meaning less than 

THREE CLEAR WORKING DAYS from date of tesson / test. booked

If your test is cancelled on the day of TEST by the DSA,  please contact your instructor Immediately to consult regarding Test and lesson rescheduling.

On  / before arrival at the test centre a pre test vehicle safety check will be carried out by pupil and instructor to confirm the car is ready for test…ie no lights or bulbs are faulty and no warning  lights are showing.

As soon as the driving test starts and the pupil has the car keys and is now in charge and responsible for the vehicle….the following conditions apply.

The pupil agrees to drive the car in the manner in which they were taught

A partial refund may be issued at the driving schools discretion if the examiner cancels the test due to bulbs blowing during the show me / tell me safety questions phase. Or / and the test is cancelled due to mechanical problems.

The pupil agrees to pay any insurance excess in the event of any proven student fault /  incident that may occur whilst they are responsible for the car during test.

The pupil agrees to pay any SPEEDING or FIXED PENALTY FINES that they incur whilst on a driving test.  ( this conditions also applies to normal driving school lessons )………………………………………………………………………………………..

Rescheduling and cancelling a test

You can reschedule or cancel a practical test either online or by phone up to three clear working days before the test, without loss of fee. The online service is available from 6.00 am to midnight, seven days a week. If you prefer to phone, DSA's Call Centre Agents are available to take your call from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays). Dial 0300 200 1122 and follow the prompts.

If you cancel or reschedule the test inside the three working days you will lose your test fee.

 

Weather conditions/ mechanical problems etc

DSA do not conduct tests in bad light or in adverse weather conditions for the safety of the candidate and the examiner. DSA will arrange another appointment at no further cost, but compensation is not payable. Candidates should call the telephone number quoted on the appointment letter to check whether their test will go ahead.

If the driving test is not completed for reasons attributable to you or your vehicle, you will have to take another test at your own cost.
